Learning Illustration: A photo can bring you into a story, but understanding how to use your camera can help you tell the story.
As a photographer, I love going to new cities and documenting the people, architecture, and atmosphere. There are off-the-grid tours that take you to some of the most crazy and interesting places. Recently, I went to New York City to work on a photo collection. But instead of just walking the streets or taking a tour, I met up with a local New Yorker who was both a photographer and teacher. Instead of just walking the town, he tutored me on how to get better shots as we went along. We talked about equipment, settings, perspective, composition, and so much more. He didn’t give me his own pictures, rather, he helped me learn how to take better shots on my own. This is our goal with RVIV. We are not trying to give you all that you need to know, instead, we want to train you on the tools necessary to discover and learn on your own.
